Prague Christmas Markets Make The Perfect Employee Incentive

In December Vicci, our Groups and Business Travel Consultant, visited Prague to experience the opportunities available for conferences and incentives. While she was there she was also lucky enough to visit the famous Christmas markets.

Prague Day 1 - We landed in Prague to below zero weather conditions and were taken to Luxury Collection hotel, the Augustine. The hotel consists of 7 historic buildings, the most important being the 13th century Augustinian St Thomas monastery. We were collected from the hotel and taken around the old town of Prague in vintage cars to see some of the finest sites at night. We finished our drive at the Pilsner Restaurant where we had a traditional folklore dinner.

Day 2 – In the morning we took a short walk to the tram stop where we boarded a traditional tram, which is kept in the Public Transport Museum and only used for private hire. The tram took us to Prague Castle where we had a guided tour and visited the representative rooms which are used for private events. Once we had seen the castle we were taken to Lobkowicz Palace where we were able to see some world-famous paintings, sculptures and manuscripts. The palace is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is the official residence of the Lobkowicz Princes. We were lucky enough to meet William Lobkowicz who showed us around some of the rooms in the palace and shared his family story. &

Prague treeIn the afternoon we were divided into teams and did a Trabant Rally. This consisted of directing a Czech only speaking driver around the city of Prague while attempting to beat the other teams. Once we had all made it to the final check point we got to have a go at driving the cars ourselves.

In the evening we visited the Christmas markets and saw Prague lit up by thousands of Christmas lights, followed by dinner and drinks in the city centre where we got to experience Prague’s nightlife.

Day 3 – We started our last day by visiting the newest modern river cruise boat, Grand Bohemia. After a short walk to St Agnes Convent, which offers a variety of different spaces for all different types of events. We were then taken for a private river cruise where we had hot wine and learnt about Czech Christmas traditions.

Our last venue to see was Zofin Palace. Here we were shown the variety of different rooms they can offer, one of which is big enough to cater for 800 people with amazing high ceilings and traditional décor. We also met Zatisi (Zofin Palace catering company) who hosted a three-course meal alongside the AV company they use who put on a table performance before each course using only a projector – amazing to watch.

Back to the airport to return to normal life and warmer temperatures (believe it or not).
